Last night I went to sleep late, a few of us that did not go camping out in the ice, decided to take advantage of the bar and partied a bit to late. In the morning I woke up the sweet sound of my pony tale girl who came back with a smile and a story on her exiting Antarctic over night camp out. She told me about penguins getting really close to the crew and a curious leopard seal hanging around the camp sight. During breakfast I heard some guys experiencing a very cold night and others, like Sara, where very warm and had a wonderful sleep. I know that the worse the experience, the more you will remember it for the rest of your life, I know this because I’ve had some bad nights in the past and I love to look back and smile at the awesome experiences. Abran, the solar panel expert in the team, was telling me that he could not zip his sleeping bag all the way up and he past the night outside on a matt, when he woke up, his hand was outside the sleeping bag and one of the mats was gone from under neath him...He did mentioned the stars where beautiful. I been hitting up Abran about getting some of his gear or possibly sponsoring me with his cool solar back pack which actually charges a cell phone, how exiting would it be to show up to school using one of this packs and advertising them at the same time for him. There is also a wind mill guy, but from what I have found out, it takes a lot of reps to get a bit of energy. I wanted to hook something up to my wheel chair -powering something while I rolled around campus or to the store...I had second thoughts when Robert had a bike on a trainer and was trying to light a bulb by his pedaling, I got to say either Robert can’t pedal or it’s just hard to light a bulb. After talking to the experts, they said there’s a great amount of energy that a mill can produce, the problem is that they currently don’t have a good way to store the energy, so if there is no wind, we don’t have power, unless you are Robert Swan and have both wind mills and solar panels, then you have it made and can pretty much live any where in the worst conditions.
How cool would it be to have a booth in school or anywhere, with a big screen where videos about how solar panels and wind mills work, and all powered by natural energy.
