Today was awesome! Sara and I woke up early and took a ride to the mammoth Palomar mountain. I was so exited because stage 8 of the Tour de California was taking place on my cycling grounds. My pops and I used to ride this punishing course back when I was in high school, and before my accident I ran up the mountain on a private dirt road with my brother and uncle just about every Sunday. This mountain is so menacing, if you are not in shape for it, it will make you suffer.
There where so many riders and as we predicted, the road was blocked off at the base of the mountain. But I was determined to get to the top, we drove back down to the private dirt road where I used to run up and had a great off road adventure all the way to the top, we even lucked out a great parking spot right in front of the action.
We decided to roll a bit down the hill because I wanted to see the riders faces before they reached to summit, full with agony and pain, as I once felt back in the day. We saw a bunch of characters having a great time when one of them came up to me and to my amazement it was Ken and Karen. These guys are great! every time I saw them, they where partying it up, he sets up bike races and has a great time doing this, and this time it wasn't any different.
Sara and I decided to park right there and when the helicopters started showing up, we knew the raiders where near. At first, there was the brake away, so many people gathered right in the middle of the road made it hard for me to see what was happening, but when the riders finally showed up, I noticed their faces and the pain this great mountain was dishing out, I could not help my self and scream out from the top of my lungs; Yeaaaaahhhhhh!!!!!! as I shuck my cow bells along with the rest of the screaming and yelling from the crowd. Man that was fun, I was right in the middle of the action at the top of Palomar Mountain along with my sweetie and old friends...

Man I'm tired right now, and there still a lot I have to do. I wanted to create another website so I can mange my own upgrades. I love my friend that helps me out with my other website-Guy, but I just hate to bother him every time I need something done, besides I get to learn more about upgrading my own site and dealing with websites. I still love Guy and I hope he comes by more often so we can go get some fish, calamari and crab tacos in OB. |
